Nanaimo Memory Care Activity Facilitator

Serve as an Activity Facilitator at Nanaimo Memory Care, where you will help enhance residents’ joy and independence through engaging activities. This role involves significant planning and collaboration with staff for optimal resident experience.

As part of a pioneering memory care facility, you will assist in crafting and coordinating activities suited to the unique needs of seniors with dementia. Working with the Director of Activities, you will ensure that all scheduled programs encourage both social interaction and physical well-being, enhancing the residential experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning residents’ monthly activities

• Help prepare and share weekly program details

• Collaborate on special event planning

• Aid in conducting arts programs and games

• Train staff on activity-related initiatives

Requirements:

• High school diploma or relevant experience

• One year working with seniors in a caring role

• Familiarity with special needs of elderly residents

• Competence in Microsoft Office and Adobe tools

• Strong communication skills and patience
