The City of Nanaimo seeks a dedicated Police Technical Support Specialist to enhance IT operations within the police department. Focus on maintaining and upgrading computer systems vital for law enforcement effectiveness.
As a full-time specialist, you will work under the Police Support Services, ensuring efficient technical support for police staff and systems. Candidates must possess a diploma in Computer Science and relevant qualifications, such as CompTIA A+ and Network+. A minimum of three years in IT infrastructure support is essential to excel in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Repair and upgrade computer hardware and software systems
• Document and implement new technologies effectively
• Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to staff
• Plan and support core networking and IT infrastructure
• Attain and maintain required security clearances
Requirements:
• Diploma in Computer Science or related discipline
• CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications
• At least 3 years of IT support experience
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
• Preferable experience in police tech environments
