As the Manager of Communications, you will report directly to the Director of Legislative Services. This role requires a strong background in communications, public relations, and leadership experience to oversee programs and resources effectively. You will also provide strategic advice on policy matters impacting the community, advancing the City’s inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop communication programs to engage the community
• Manage resources for effective communication strategies
• Build relationships with residents and stakeholders
• Provide strategic advice on policy and engagement matters
• Oversee community relations initiatives for improved outreach
Requirements:
• University degree in Communications or related field
• At least five years of relevant communications experience
• Proven management and supervisory skills
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
• Equivalent education and experience combinations considered
Lead effective communication strategies and enhance community relations in Nanaimo.
