Job Description

Carecor is seeking a compassionate Specialty Pharma Registered Nurse specialized with infusion, injectable, and oral pharmacological treatments in home and clinic settings. Working under the guidance of the Specialty Pharma Supervisor and/or Nursing Manager, the role focuses on delivering safe, high‑quality, one‑on‑one care while closely monitoring patients for infusion‑related reactions and responding appropriately as needed. Nurses are responsible for accurate documentation, timely completion of required reporting, and ensuring continuity and quality of care.

Collaborative communication with clinical leadership is key to ensuring patient safety, positive outcomes, and exceptional patient experiences. Comprehensive specialty pharmacological training is provided to support confident, evidence‑based care. The position offers the opportunity to build expertise in specialty infusion services and may involve professional development initiatives such as conferences and clinical trials. The role is casual and designed with flexibility in mind, allowing nurses to provide their availability and manage patient portfolios with mutually agreed schedules to fit individual lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review individualized nursing care plans for each patient.
  • Conduct patient health assessments and medication administration teaching.
  • Obtain IV access through peripheral IV initiation or central line access (PICC, IVAD, etc.).
  • Prepare and administer a variety of specialized intravenous or injectable pharmacological treatments.
  • Provide patient care utilizing observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, health teaching, and reporting adverse events to supervisors or required stakeholders.
  • Perform routine nursing duties in accordance with company policies, procedures, and provincial standards.
  • Provide patient‑centered care in accordance with the established care plan or medical directive.
  • Perform specialized nursing procedures for which recognized training and current competencies have been demonstrated and updated per standards.
  • Maintain role‑related medication and pharmacovigilance training as required.
  • Observe and document patient conditions.
  • Report and document adverse events per pharmacovigilance requirements.
  • Complete any other duties as requested.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from an accredited program.
  • Current registration in good standing with the provincial nursing regulatory body.
  • Current BLS certification (ACLS required for clinic roles).
  • Experience in acute care and/or specialty pharmaceutical administration.
  • Critical care (ER/ICU), infusion clinic, oncology, or home care experience is an asset.
  • Strong peripheral IV skills; central line experience (IVAD, PICC) an asset.
  • Strong patient assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license.
