Join Vancouver Island Health Authority as a Geriatric Nurse Clinician, focusing on patient education and safety. This casual role enhances your leadership skills while working with mental health and geriatric care.
As a clinical resource within the program, you will provide essential consultation and education to both staff and health professionals. Your responsibilities include developing and evaluating care programs aligned with VIHA’s mission. You’ll assess, educate, and support the geriatric patient population while traveling to various healthcare sites when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Advise nursing staff on geriatric care best practices
• Implement and assess clinical programs for quality care
• Carry out patient assessments to guide treatment
• Lead interdisciplinary teams in patient management
• Collaborate effectively with external health agencies
Requirements:
• Completion of a recognized nursing program
• At least three years' experience in related geriatrics
• Current registration with BC College of Nurses
• Strong foundation in cognitive training methodologies
• Excellent organizing and prioritization skills
