The First Nations Primary Care Initiative invites a dedicated Nurse Practitioner to deliver trauma-informed care across Northern Vancouver Island. Enhance health access for First Nations communities with your specialized skills.
As a part of the Pata'yi FNPCI team, you will focus on providing culturally safe and respectful healthcare services. This role consists of forming vital connections with Family Physicians, traditional wellness providers, and community members. You will play a key role in patient evaluation, education, and personalized care plans, ensuring community health needs are met effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver trauma-informed and culturally safe care
• Collaborate closely with healthcare and traditional wellness teams
• Oversee patient care management and coordination
• Provide education on family planning and health
• Conduct assessments for mental health and substance use
Requirements:
• Master’s Degree – Nurse Practitioner (Family)
• Current BCCNM license in good standing
• Training in Cultural Safety & Humility preferred
• Experience with First Nations populations ideal
• Current valid driver’s license required
