Join the AVI Nanaimo Community Health Centre team in this essential nursing role focused on harm reduction and evidence-based care for HIV and STBBI. You'll be integral in delivering comprehensive clinical services, including education, counseling, and support to marginalized populations. This role requires working both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team to offer outreach and harm reduction supplies to high-risk communities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide intake, assessments, and medication access for clients
• Deliver frontline primary care and ongoing support services
• Educate clients on STIs and harm reduction strategies
• Collaborate with community partners to enhance support
• Conduct HIV and STBBI testing, including pre-and post-test counseling
Requirements:
• RN designation with BCCNM registration
• Minimum 3 years nursing experience in community health
• Experience with substance use disorders and marginalized groups
• Certification in reproductive health
• Valid BC Driver’s License for transportation
