The STI Nurse position engages in prevention, education, and treatment for various infections within a community health center setting.
Your role will involve direct patient care while also advocating for those impacted by substance use and health equity issues. By participating in outreach efforts, you will help improve access to care for marginalized groups who face barriers in the healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments and provide healthcare services to clients
• Facilitate access to harm reduction supplies and medications
• Implement harm reduction education and training initiatives
• Participate in multidisciplinary case coordination
• Record statistical data and assist in program evaluation
Requirements:
• RN designation and current BCCNM registration
• 3+ years experience dealing with high-risk populations
• Certification in reproductive health with relevant experience
• Knowledge of community health services and challenges
• Valid BC Driver’s License for local travel
