Become a Crime Analyst with the City of Nanaimo and play a key role in analyzing crime data. This full-time position focuses on supporting investigative activities under the Police Support Services.
The Criminal Analyst is responsible for evaluating intelligence and investigative information, identifying trends in crime, and maintaining confidentiality in all work. You will operate with minimal supervision while following stringent RCMP security guidelines, ensuring high-quality data analysis and support for various police projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze various intelligence and investigative datasets
• Monitor and identify emerging crime patterns
• Aid in developing pertinent Detachment programs
• Adhere to RCMP data quality and security standards
• Work independently and exercise sound judgment
Requirements:
• Degree in criminology or a related field
• Minimum 1 year of experience in analytical roles
• Familiarity with statistical research methodologies
• Successful completion of EDCAS Analyst Examination required
• Obtain and maintain RCMP Security Clearance
