, you will play a key role in delivering archaeological assessments, field investigations, permitting support, and heritage resource management initiatives while contributing to meaningful projects that shape the future of our communities and environment.

Your Impact
  • Conduct archaeological field assessments, surveys, monitoring, and excavation programs in support of infrastructure, energy, transportation, and community development projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate archaeological and cultural heritage considerations into project planning and delivery.
  • Support compliance with provincial and federal heritage legislation, permits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage respectfully with Indigenous Nations, clients, regulators, and project stakeholders throughout project life cycles.
  • Manage projects in collaboration with the Project Team (including the Project Director and Project Coordinator).
  • Prepare technical reports, site records, permit applications, and archaeological impact assessment documentation.
  • Contribute to field program planning, logistics, health and safety implementation, and quality management processes.
  • Mentor junior team members and share knowledge to support the growth of archaeological expertise within the team.
  • Help identify innovative approaches that improve project outcomes while protecting cultural heritage values.
The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline;
    Master's degree considered an asset.

While based in Nanaimo, there may be occasional travel to project sites throughout BC, including remote areas, with accommodation in hotels or resource camps.

Demonstrated professional archaeological consulting experience in British Columbia, ideally at an intermediate level.

Working knowledge of the British Columbia Heritage Conservation Act and associated permitting processes.

Working towards Field Director status in the Northwest Coast Region considered an asset.

Experience leading or supporting archaeological field programs, including survey, testing, mitigation, and monitoring activities.

Strong technical writing skills with experience preparing archaeological reports and regulatory documentation.

Experience with Microsoft Planner or other similar project management software an asset.

Familiarity with GIS, field data collection technologies, and archaeological recording methods.

Valid Class 5 Driver's License and willingness to travel to project sites throughout British Columbia.

Commitment to health, safety, environmental stewardship, and respectful engagement with Indigenous communities.

MB & ON: $63,600 - $87,500
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $62,900 - $83,600
