Step into the Archaeologist position with WSP in Nanaimo, where your expertise in cultural heritage will be instrumental in community-driven projects across British Columbia. This role combines fieldwork with strong stakeholder engagement.
As an Intermediate Archaeologist, you will conduct assessments, monitor excavation activities, and ensure compliance with legislation. Your collaborative approach and strong communication skills will help you build relationships with Indigenous Nations, clients, and project stakeholders, making a meaningful difference in cultural resource management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Execute archaeological site assessments and research
• Ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with project teams for integrated planning
• Mentor junior archaeologists and share knowledge
• Prepare archaeological impact assessments and reports
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or related disciplines
• Relevant archaeological experience in the region
• Strong technical writing and reporting skills
• Knowledge of British Columbia's Heritage Act
• Valid Driver's License and ability to travel
