WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We are looking for a Store Manager to join our Selby Store located at 278 Selby St, Nanaimo BC . This is a full-time position.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE IS:
Available to work any day of the week, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Friendly, helpful, and customer-focused
Experienced in retail management, with at least two years in a leadership role
Able to lead, mentor, train, and develop a team
A liquor and spirits expert
Skilled in analyzing market, financial, and sales data to identify trends and improve merchandising
Proficient in Excel, Word, computerized systems, and sales‑tracking software
An excellent verbal and written communicator
Committed to safety, integrity, and teamwork
Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Able to provide a satisfactory criminal record check
Serving It Right certified before starting, WSETLevel 2 is preferred
WHAT YOU’LL DO The Store Manager oversees all aspects of the liquor store’s daily operations while ensuring consistently high standards of customer service. They develop and achieve operating plans, budgets, and sales targets, and oversee inventory management to maintain accuracy and appropriate stock levels. The Store Manager hires, leads, coaches, and develops the team, manages employee performance, and supports ongoing learning and development.
They also build strong working relationships with other departments, suppliers, and business partners, maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment, and ensure compliance with all regulations governing the sale of restricted products.
