Become a key player as an Intake & Settlement Specialist with CVIMS in Nanaimo, B.C., where you can make a difference for newcomers. This full-time, term contract role emphasizes client intake and integrating refugees into the community.
In this position, you will assess newcomers' needs and connect them with critical services, promoting informed decision-making. Your advocacy and support will drive your clients' successful integration into Canadian society, creating a welcoming environment that respects cultural sensitivities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain an inclusive environment during client interactions
• Conduct thorough client intake interviews
• Gather information for needs assessments
• Develop settlement plans that empower clients
• Coordinate outreach initiatives to connect with underserved populations
Requirements:
• Diploma in Social Work or related field
• At least 1 year in intake or settlement services
• Exceptional communication skills are required
• Valid class 5 driver’s license for travel
• Training in trauma-informed care preferred
