Wage: $24.41 - $27.89 per hour

As a Community Housing Support Worker, you’ll help youth with diverse abilities thrive at home and in the community by providing compassionate, person-centered support. This role is about more than daily living—it’s about creating opportunities for connection, growth, and belonging.
Working under the guidance of the Program Manager and alongside a supportive team, you’ll play an essential role in helping people achieve their goals, participate fully in community life, and build meaningful relationships.
The RoleAs a Community Housing Support Worker, you will:
- Support youth with daily living activities including health, nutrition, recreation, personal care, and community participation
- Assist with developing life skills that promote dignity, independence, and quality of life
- Apply positive behavioral strategies and crisis intervention techniques, recognizing behavior as communication
- Collaborate with families, community partners (MCFD, CLBC, VIHA, Behavior Consultants, etc.), and your team to provide holistic care
- Ensure health, safety, and wellbeing are always maintained
- Build strong, respectful relationships with the people you support, their families, and your colleagues
We’re seeking individuals who combine skill with compassion. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- Diploma or Degree in Social Services, Community Support Work, or equivalent experience
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting individuals with diverse abilities (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and remain calm in high-stress situations
- Personal suitability to foster dignity, independence, and individuality
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License, and personal vehicle
- RCMP Criminal Record Check & MCFD Hub Screening (employer facilitated)
- First Aid with CPR, Food Safe Level 1
- 3 reference letters (including one from your most recent employer)
- Immunization record, TB Screen, and Physician's Declaration
