Serviceperson Operator in Transportation

The Regional District of Nanaimo is hiring a casual Service person Operator, with training beginning in July 2026. This role includes diverse working conditions and regular customer interactions.
As a Service person Operator, you will support the Transportation Services department by safely operating and maintaining transit vehicles. Candidates should possess a grade 12 education and some related experience. Your daily tasks will involve transporting passengers, inspecting vehicles, and addressing customer inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely transport passengers to designated bus stops
• Respond to passenger inquiries effectively
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip inspections on buses
Requirements:
• High school diploma and 6 months relevant experience
• Class 2 BC Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
• Prefer transit or commercial driving background
• Experience with the public and mechanical aptitude is beneficial
• ICBC Driver Factor Report submission required
