Overview
BC Ferries is seeking a skilled Materials Coordinator in Nanaimo. This role focuses on purchasing operations, inventory control, and effective shipping processes to optimize corporate goods management.
In this position, you will oversee a variety of responsibilities, ensuring efficient purchasing and inventory practices. You will manage the entire shipping and receiving process, analyze requisitions, and maintain accurate inventory records. Your expertise will also extend to vendor relationship management and facilitating compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Execute inventory control and discrepancy resolution
- Handle shipping logistics including loading and unloading
- Process requisitions and manage purchasing transactions
- Monitor vendor performance and inspect shipments
- Administer tool crib operations and record keeping
- BC or inter-provincial Trades Qualification in warehousing
- Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license
- Experience with BCF Oracle and Maximo software
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Robust organizational and communication skills
