Warehouse Supervisor

As a Branch Warehouse Supervisor, you will work in a fast-paced, client-facing distribution center environment that handles heavy building materials. You will create and execute plans to improve efficiency and accuracy in warehouse operations while maintaining a strong focus on safety and customer service.

• Reporting to the Branch Manager, coordinate the activity of warehouse staff and the movement of product in the distribution branch warehouse.
• Ensure efficiency of warehouse processes in accordance with internal standards or requirements, and ensure safe and efficient flow of inventory while supporting an excellent customer service experience.
• Shipping: set delivery routes and coordinate trucking; arrange special deliveries as needed.
• As workload necessitates, perform Warehouse person duties: pick orders and prepare for delivery, assist with loading delivery trucks, pick orders for immediate pick-up, check order accuracy against paperwork, and obtain customer confirmation of order completion.
• Receiving: review incoming delivery schedule, plan labor, space, and storage for receipt of goods; expedite inbound goods related to backorders or special orders; ensure accuracy and quality of incoming goods; move goods to staging areas or designated locations as directed.
• Customer Service: greet customers entering the warehouse and provide timely assistance.
• Supervise warehouse employees: ensure orientation and training, coach and supervise performance, and schedule work and assign tasks.
• Inventory replenishment/control: perform replenishment duties and review reports such as cycle counts, surplus inventory, and inventory targets.
• Safety: perform safety audits/inspections, support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for accidents, and ensure safe condition of material handling equipment.
• Other duties as required; follow all PPE requirements and safe material handling procedures; report hazards promptly.

• Post-secondary education required.
• Experience in a lead role in a distribution warehouse.
• Computer proficiency – AS400, Microsoft Office, inventory control applications.
• Forklift certified and comfortable operating material handling equipment.
• Sound knowledge of applicable safety rules and requirements.

• High compliance with standards, requirements, and processes.
• Appropriate levels of dominance and influence for effective team performance.
• Emotional intelligence facilitating respectful and courteous interactions with customers and Gentek employees.

• Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to operate material handling equipment.
• Distribution branch environment may include noise, temperature fluctuations, and sensory distractions.
• Ability to manage stress at a low but somewhat constant level.
• Good spatial orientation for order and efficiency in warehouse space.
