UPS is currently looking for Part‑time Local Sorters to work from our Nanaimo Package Facility.
Position Title: Local Sorters
Position Type: Permanent Part‑time
Work Hours: 4:00PM – 8:00PM*
Workdays: Monday to Friday*
Location: Madsen Rd., Nanaimo, BC
Shift schedules may vary based on operational requirements.
Responsibilities- Lifting, lowering, and moving of packages weighing between 10 to 70lbs.
- Scanning and sorting packages based on postal codes, addresses, and package dimensions.
- Understanding and recognizing postal codes, routing charts, and maps.
- Standing closely with conveyor, roller belts, and other equipment in the warehouse.
- Washing package cars to ensure cleanliness.
- Available to work Monday to Friday.
- Ability to follow sets of safety and standard procedures.
- Good organizational and multi‑tasking skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and physically demanding work environment.
- Able to regularly and safely lift packages between 10‑lbs up to 70‑lbs unassisted.
- Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment.
- Warehouse experience is considered an asset but not required.
- Training and Development: training provided for all positions.
- Weekly compensation: weekly pay, effective starting rate of $18.50/hour.
