We are seeking an experienced Central Sterile Processing Supervisor to lead the sterilization and decontamination operations in a healthcare facility. This is a day shift position (5–8 hours daily) that includes on-call responsibilities during nights, weekends, and holidays. The role ensures compliance with infection control standards, staff performance, and adherence to sterilization protocols. Shared housing is provided for this island-based opportunity, with specific housing rules outlined below.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the Central Sterile Processing Department.
  • Ensure all sterilization, decontamination, and equipment handling processes meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Provide leadership, training, and performance management for sterilization technicians.
  • Maintain documentation for sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance records.
  • Ensure department compliance with infection prevention policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate scheduling, staffing, and workload distribution to meet facility needs.
  • Act as the point of contact for after-hours support during on-call shifts.
  • Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and supplies.
  • Participate in audits and inspections, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Prior supervisory experience in sterile processing (mandatory).
  • Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, instrument handling, and decontamination practices.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., AAMI, OSHA, Joint Commission).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays when on call.
  • Must have current COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a hospital or acute care facility.
  • Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and case cart systems.
