The Town’s nursing facility, Our Island Home, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide and oversee direct patient care to the residents of the Islands only nursing home. Our Island Home is a 45‑bed skilled nursing facility dually licensed in Medicaid and Medicare and owned by the Town of Nantucket. Island residency is not required and commuters encouraged to apply. The Town of Nantucket assists with commuting expenses to and from the island and securing housing on Nantucket.
You must be currently licensed in MA and be in good physical and mental health. Completion of an accredited nurse licensure program is required; you must comply with the regulations of the MA Department of Public Health. Prior work experience in long‑term care preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to residents of Our Island Home.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to ensure quality of care.
- Participate in shift coverage and shift meetings.
- Current RN license in MA.
- Good physical and mental health.
- Completion of an accredited nurse licensure program.
- Experience in long‑term care preferred.
- Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
- Full Benefits, LiUNA Union, OI RN position.
- Hourly rate $51.08 (new hires) – $64.83 (employed prior to July 1, 2012 with 20 years of service).

- RN differential: $2.05–$2.60 per shift depending on overtime.
- Monday‑Friday – Second Shift ($2.05‑$2.25).
- Saturday‑Sunday – First Shift ($2.05), Second & Third Shift ($2.60).
