About the PositionTravel Nurse Source is partnering with Fusion Medical Staffing to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Nantucket, Massachusetts (zip 02554). Required Qualifications- One year of recent experience as an ER RN
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Certification
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP, and SANE certifications
- Any other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with protocols
- Prepare equipment and aid physicians during emergency treatments and examinations
- Monitor patient comfort and safety, responding to immediate needs
- Observe and document patient conditions as required within scope of practice
- Take and monitor vital signs using clinical judgment to address deviations and prevent complications
- Respond to life‑saving situations based on emergency nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols
- Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR
- Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care
- Perform other duties within the scope of practice
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
- Physical abilities: stand, move, lift 50‑100 lbs, push, pull, bend
- Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel, maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
- Technical/Motor skills: fine manipulation, assist with procedures, use department equipment
- Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with public and customers, meet deadlines under pressure, work independently or with occasional supervision, handle irregular activity schedules, maintain concentration on detail
- Sensory: possess visual acuity and effective communication skills
