OverviewReaseheath College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year. The College has significantly invested in the Engineering facility, with a £7 million Advanced Engineering and Agri-Tech Centre boasting some fantastic, state of the art facilities and equipment for teaching purposes.
As the UK's leading academy for agricultural engineering, we are constantly raising the bar to deliver training in the advanced technology needed to maintain the complex tractors and agricultural machinery used in precision farming. Our Agricultural Engineering team with industry expertise, support the development of students technical knowledge and practical skills with the maintenance of agricultural machinery.
About the roleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Engineering Technician to provide high-quality technical support to teaching staff and students within the Engineering department. Working closely with the Senior Technician, you will ensure that machinery, equipment and learning resources are maintained to the highest standards, supporting an engaging, safe and effective learning environment.
Key responsibilities- Provide high-quality technical support to teaching staff and students, ensuring effective use of machinery, equipment and learning resources
- Maintain, prepare and repair engineering machinery and equipment in line with industry, departmental and College standards
- Ensure high standards of health & safety, safeguarding, security and compliance within the Engineering department
- Support learners' development by organising resources and contributing to an engaging, safe learning environment
- Work closely with the Senior Technician and wider College teams to deliver a cost-effective, efficient technical service
- Hold a minimum Level 2 qualification in Agricultural Engineering, Construction Plant, Motor Vehicle Studies (or equivalent vocational experience), or be willing to work towards one
- Have previous experience of maintaining and repairing engineering-related machinery and equipment
- Hold GCSE Grade C / Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths and English, or be willing to work towards these
- Have demonstrable experience of working with and maintaining equipment, with the ability to prioritise and problem-solve effectively
- Be self-motivated, flexible and able to work both independently and as part of a team
