The Academy of Land and Environment is a vibrant and industry-focused department delivering high-quality education and training in forestry, arboriculture, countryside management, and related disciplines.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Academy of Land and Environment as a Lecturer specialising in Forestry and Arboriculture. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and practical training to a diverse range of learners, helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed for successful careers in the land-based industries. The role also includes course management responsibilities, providing pastoral support, and contributing to curriculum development.
Key responsibilities:- Deliver outstanding teaching and practical instruction across forestry and arboriculture subjects.
- Assess learner competence using a variety of methods in line with awarding body requirements.
- Undertake course management duties including tutorials, pastoral care, and safeguarding.
- Engage with employers and stakeholders to enhance student recruitment and employment outcomes.
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives.
- Hold a minimum Level 3 qualification in Forestry and Arboriculture or a related subject.
- Possess relevant industry experience and CS qualifications (CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39).
- Have or be willing to work towards a teaching qualification.
- Demonstrate strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Be committed to continuous professional development and inspiring learners.
