Advanced Technical Trainer - Rail Engineering

Location: Reaseheath Engineering Apprenticeship Academy (REAA)

Salary: £28,337 - £39,068 (L6-L14) + Welcome Bonus up to £5,000

Hours: 37 hours per week

About the Role

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Advanced Technical Trainer in Rail Engineering.

You will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and assessment to apprentices attending on block release, supporting them to develop the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the rail industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver Rail Engineering apprenticeship training aligned to industry standards
  • Facilitate engaging theory lessons, practical sessions, and assessments
  • Carry out vocational assessments both on-site and in the workplace
  • Support and mentor apprentices throughout their learning journey
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance curriculum delivery
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, safeguarding, and compliance
  • Build positive relationships with employers and stakeholders

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Industry experience within rail engineering, maintenance, or operations
  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Strong teaching, training, or mentoring experience (qualification desirable, not essential)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and health & safety standards
  • A genuine passion for supporting learners and developing future talent
