Northbay Recruiter is partnering with a well-established wine industry client in search of an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee all weekly and monthly accounting operations, ensuring adherence with internal policy and current accounting standards. Reporting to the Controller, this position will play a pivotal role within the department and contribute to the organization's overall financial success. The successful candidate will have a strong combination of leadership & accounting experience, coupled with the desire to work within a fast paced and dynamic environment where each day is different.
Scopeof Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Oversee the execution of recurring (weekly/monthly/quarterly) accounting tasks to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and meet established department deadlines.
- Manage month-end close schedule and the timely production of financial statements.
- Oversee the accounting of fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation schedules.
- Assist with planning initiatives, including budgeting & forecasting as needed.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff on accounting practices, fostering an environment of professional development and continuous learning.
- Assist with various hands‑on accounting tasks as needed which may include reconciliations, journal entries, analysis and review.
- Work cross‑functionally with department heads to address information bottlenecks, suggest process improvements, ensuring the accurate and timely receipt of financial information.
- Be an active participant in the annual audit and working with external auditors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 5-7 years accounting experience minimum in addition to 2-3 years supervisory experience.
- Relevant experience within the wine, CPG, or inventory focused environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong systems/ERP experience and advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently
Salary is commensurate with experience, between the range of $125-140k annually + benefits.
