The Superintendent reports to the Project Manager or Division Manager and possesses a high degree of specialized expertise and skill in maintaining established standards of quality and accuracy. Drive, determination, and a self‑disciplined approach to achieving results that meet these established criteria are necessary for successful job performance.
While the pace of the work is faster than average, quality is never compromised. The focus of communication and organizational relationships is based on technical expertise. The work requires specialized technical problem‑solving and ingenuity while working within approved organizational systems and technology and demonstrating integrity, quality, and caution. Superintendents provide on‑site, as well as remote, coordination for all phases of construction projects assigned, including coordinating subcontractors, materials, equipment, and employees under their direction.
Hare Construction Superintendents are responsible for ensuring that specifications, regulations, and laws are being strictly followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The Superintendent shall also be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety. The position encompasses a defined span of control and opportunity for someone who engenders trust, demonstrates a sense of urgency, and assures consistent achievement of quality standards.
The work requires making decisions that support company guidelines authoritatively and quickly.
Job Duties:
- Ensure that scheduling is done in a manner that will lead to the timely completion of the project, including:
- Hare Construction employees working at job site
- Subcontractors, vendors, and all other individuals required to complete work on the job site.
- Coordinate required permits and inspections.
- Identify and take action to correct any subcontractor non‑compliance with job site safety standards.
- Identify and communicate any job site issues with appropriate team members.
- Submit expenses.
- Submit Daily logs and provide job status updates as needed.
- Perform stated duties at multiple job sites simultaneously.
- Ensure that the quality of work being performed on‑site meets Hare Construction’s and our Client’s standards.
- Assist in the selection process when hiring job site employees.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Identifying RFI's and drafting them.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites with all required signage.
- Host weekly job site safety meetings.
- Maintain a safe working environment for all team members; make sure safety equipment has been provided and is in working order.
- Responsible for making sure all tools and equipment are maintained and properly stored at the end of each workday.

- 5+ years of project superintendent experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication; must be able to communicate clearly and concisely with team members, as well as clients and subcontractors.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Proficient in the use of smartphones and computers. This is to be able to use our management software on the phone and computer.
- Detail‑oriented; ability to work well under compressed timelines; ability to multitask.
