Job Overview
Part‑time, hourly Geology Instructor positions are open at Napa Valley College. The starting salary range is $74.84–$80.94 per classroom hour, with future steps up to $94.69 per classroom hour. Placement is based on verified previous college teaching or counseling experience.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in earth sciences, geology, geophysics, meteorology, oceanography, or paleontology.
- OR bachelor’s degree in geology AND master’s in geography, physics, or geochemistry.
- OR the equivalent.

Request for Equivalency Review form (PDF) if you lack the stated minimum educational qualifications and are seeking consideration on the basis of equivalency. - Legible copies of transcripts verifying college work, degrees, and conferral dates (unofficial copies accepted at time of application; official transcripts required upon offer).
- Remove SSN or DOB if visible on transcripts.
- Foreign transcripts: applicants who have completed coursework at a foreign institution must obtain a complete evaluation of foreign transcripts, degrees, and other relevant documents by an approved organization before the application is reviewed.
- Do not submit materials not requested; application materials become the property of Napa Valley College.
