The City of Napa is seeking two Junior/Assistant Engineers, one in Construction Project Management and one in Development Engineering, to support the planning, design, and construction of a wide range of public works projects.

Our Junior/Assistant Engineers work in various divisions within the Public Works Department including Design, Development, Construction and Operations. We are currently seeking two (2) individuals to join our dynamic team in the following areas.

Construction Engineering

The Construction Division is responsible for providing construction project management for a wide range of municipal construction projects, including roadway improvements, public buildings, parks, and other essential community infrastructure. Working as part of a project team, the position is responsible for assisting with scheduling, budget tracking, contractor oversight, on‑site inspections, and contract and project management to support timely, cost‑effective, and compliant project delivery.

The position is also responsible for helping ensure adherence to safety standards and local, state, and federal regulations.

Development Engineering

The Development Engineering Division is responsible for the engineering review and processing of private development applications as well as plan check and coordination of infrastructure construction activities resulting from the development process. The Division also provides administration of the Stormwater Program, Floodplain Management, and assistance to the public with building permits, addressing and general inquiries.
