Elementary Lunchroom Supervisor (2 Positions Available)
Naperville Community Unit School District 203 is hiring Elementary Lunchroom Supervisors for two positions. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt, hourly position with a pay rate of $19.00 per hour. The role does not include benefits.
Work schedule: Monday–Friday (every day students attend school). Hours vary between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Start date to be determined.
Responsibilities- Supervise students during lunch periods, including serving lines, eating, and dismissal procedures.
- Assist students in securing trays, accessing food, seating, and transport to their classroom.
- Circulate among tables to provide assistance and resolve minor issues.
- Address student behavior using established school and district procedures and plans.
- Interact with students in a positive, age‑appropriate manner; model positive communication, tact, and diplomacy.
- Report injuries, accidents, or illnesses to the appropriate authority.
- Follow the school food safety plan in compliance with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point.
- Notify the custodian of large spills, garbage problems, or other issues that need attention.
- Work collaboratively with all school staff and food service personnel.
- Supervise students outside school or in other areas to ensure safety and proper play.
- Report all safety concerns to the appropriate authority.
- Apply knowledge of school evacuation and emergency procedures as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred:
Experience working with children in a school setting.
- Work environment includes auditory and vision requirements, including heavy noise and close visual tasks.
- Standing for up to 60% of work time; walking for up to 40% of time. May involve navigating school playgrounds with varied surfaces.
- Position may be performed in temperatures as low as 0 °F with wind, rain, sun, and heat.
