- Greet patients as they enter the office and obtain required information.
- Perform patient registration, verify insurance, and collect co‑pays and outstanding balances.
- Obtain and update patient demographic and company information.
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments.
- Direct and document patient calls as appropriate.
- Coordinate scheduling of outside testing for patients.
- Serve as liaison between patient and practice.
- Provide backup for scheduling appointments.
- Perform all daily work in a manner that contributes to patient safety and confidentiality.
- Complete daily reconciliation report to assure charges are entered correctly.
- Pull charts and prepare them for the next day’s appointments; file completed patient charts daily.
- File test/procedure results in patient records after physician sign‑off.
- Liaise with company representatives or potential employees to ensure correct services are provided.
- Review Epic chart prior to patient appointments, confirming consents are within the past 12 months and insurance card is current.
- Respond to all medical record requests from patients, insurance companies, physician offices, subpoenas, and legal requests per protocol.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Zero to two years’ experience in a customer service position.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- One to three years of prior physician office experience.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
