Winninger Excavating, Inc. is a growing site utility and Mass Earthwork contractor based out of Naperville, IL. We service clients in multiple sectors of the construction Industry from Private, DOT, Industrial, Landfill, to Residential. We are committed to our core values and being the preferred contractor by choice. We are currently looking for a heavy truck diesel mechanic to join our growing team.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diesel trucks and trailers.
  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Maintenance & Repairs
  • Conduct routine maintenance: oil changes, brake service, filter replacements, tire rotations, etc.
  • Repair or replace engines, transmissions, fuel systems, cooling systems, and drive trains.
  • Maintain air brake systems, suspension components, and hydraulic systems.
Field Service Support
  • Provide mobile repair services to job sites as needed.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-site troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate with operators and site supervisors to minimize equipment downtime.
Parts & Inventory
  • Track parts usage and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Order parts and supplies in coordination with the Fleet Manager.
  • Maintain organized work spaces and ensure tools are in good working condition.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow OSHA, DOT, and company safety protocols at all times.
  • Maintain detailed service logs and repair documentation.

Applicants should possess:

  • Valid CDL-A Driver’s License with clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification in diesel technology preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in diesel truck maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brakes.
  • ASE certifications in Medium/Heavy Truck (T-series) a plus.
  • Ability to lift heavy components (50+ lbs) and work in outdoor conditions.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools.
