We are seeking an experienced Lead Installation Technician to perform and oversee complete residential HVAC installations. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership abilities, and a customer-first attitude. You will lead an Installation Assistant, ensure high-quality work, and deliver exceptional customer experiences on every job.
🏗️ Job SummaryThe Lead Installation Technician is responsible for the full installation of furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, thermostats, IAQ products, and related components. You will guide junior installers, communicate with customers, and ensure all work meets company standards, safety guidelines, and local codes.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities- Install residential HVAC systems per company standards and manufacturer specs
- Design, fabricate, and install ductwork and fittings
- Perform start‑up, testing, and basic diagnostics
- Maintain clean job sites and use floor protection
- Oversee and train Installation Assistants on proper installation practices
- Communicate professionally with customers and address questions or concerns
- Complete installation forms, checklists, and customer sign‑offs
- Maintain organized tools, truck inventory, and ensure vehicle is in safe condition
- Follow all safety procedures and attend required training
- Protect customer property and uphold company ethics and performance standards
- 3+ years of residential HVAC installation experience
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment, duct design, and installation requirements
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and installation manuals
- Skilled in electrical, refrigerant, and duct systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Able to pass background check and drug screen
- EPA Certification required; NATE Certification preferred
- Must have appropriate hand and power tools
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Work in attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas
- Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Work in varying weather conditions
- Good near, far, and peripheral vision (natural or corrected)
