NEW EMPLOYEES ARE HIRED AT, OR NEAR THE ENTRY POINT SHOWN, DEPENDING ON QUALIFICATIONS AND RELEVANT EXPERIENCE.Performs entry level accounting and clerical duties for an assigned Division, Department and/or accounting program. Duties include receiving, documenting and processing accounting documents; entering, updating and retrieving data in the automated financial systems; preparing accounting documents; and maintaining accounting and fiscal records and files.
Responsibilities- Receives and processes documents for assigned functions; reviews documents; ensures accuracy; completes with appropriate information such as account codes, vendor numbers, etc.
- Prepares documents for assigned programs; ensures accuracy and completeness.
- Establishes and maintains information in the automated information systems; performs data entry for transactions; maintains automated files and databases; processes data to produce documents.
- Establishes and maintains a variety of Division records and files including procurement, accounts receivable/payable files, correspondence, monthly reports, purchase order files, etc.
- Performs general clerical tasks in support of assigned functions such as opening and distributing mail and distributing accounting documents, reports bills, etc. to appropriate Divisions.
- Provides customer service and/or assistance to customers, County employees, vendors, contractors and the public.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) months of related experience.
- Fingerprinting required.
Salary offers above the minimum pay grade may be considered based on qualifications. Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County’s Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident‑by‑incident basis.
