SUMMARY

The Tech Arts Director provides creative and technical leadership for all live production environments at First Naples. This includes sound, lighting, video, and stage design for worship services and events across all ministries. This leader will use innovation and excellence to help create engaging, distraction-free environments where people can encounter Jesus.

The Tech Arts Director leads and develops a team of staff and volunteers who serve in production, ensuring that all technical aspects of services reflect the mission and vision of First Naples. This role requires both artistic creativity and operational expertise, blending vision with execution to support worship, teaching, and storytelling across platforms.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Works in coordination with the vision, goals, and objectives of First Naples.

Basic personal responsibilities:
  • Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible study, prayer, and meditation.
  • Lead yourself and your home towards Honesty, Honor, Humility, Hunger, the Holy Spirit, and Health (Emotional, Spiritual, Financially, and Physically)
  • Maintain proper priorities in your home, including your spouse and children (if married and/or with children).
  • Faithfully support the ministries of First Naples by maintaining wise stewardship measures over the resources entrusted to you.
  • Maintain active participation in an adult-group.
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner to glorify Christ and further the mission and ministry purposes of First Naples (Colossians 3:23-24).
SPECIFIC LIST OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide vision and leadership for all aspects of live production, including audio, lighting, video, and stage design.
  • Oversee all production elements for weekend services and ministry events.
  • Lead, train, and develop teams to serve with excellence and unity.
  • Ensure all technical systems are maintained and used effectively.
  • Collaborate with Worship, Communications, and Ministry Teams to plan and execute creative and engaging experiences.
  • Develop and manage Tech Arts budget.
  • Monitor and oversee volunteer scheduling, ensuring proper coverage for all services, approved events, and activities.
  • Implement processes for consistent quality in production environments.
  • Evaluate and refine production workflows, seeking creative innovation and technical excellence.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, humility, and worship among the production team.
QUALIFICATIONS

The Tech Arts Director must be a proven leader who combines technical expertise with relational leadership and spiritual maturity. This person should have strong skills in live production, particularly in sound, lighting, and video systems, along with a heart to use those gifts to advance the gospel. The ideal candidate demonstrates creativity, calmness under pressure, problem-solving ability, and a passion for developing others.

They should be deeply aligned with the mission and values of First Naples and capable of leading teams with both excellence and grace.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and at least five years of experience in a related ministry setting.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The Tech Arts Director must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They should be able to collaborate effectively with creative, pastoral, and technical teams, communicating ideas clearly and respectfully in person, in writing, and during live events. Tact, diplomacy, and a team-oriented spirit are essential in leading volunteers, staff, and ministry partners.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

The individual must clearly demonstrate expertise and comfort with Audio, Video, and Lighting technical systems.

REASONING ABILITY

The individual must be able to think creatively and strategically while managing multiple projects and deadlines. This includes the ability to design and implement effective solutions, troubleshoot under pressure, and adapt quickly in live environments. The role requires a balance of artistic vision, technical skill, and clear leadership to ensure excellence in every production setting.
