Substitute Teacher, Lower School (Part-Time Temporary)
The Village School of Naples is seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Lower School Substitute Teachers to support our vibrant classroom community. The Lower School Substitute Teacher is responsible for supervising the education of students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. This is a temporary, on-call position as needed.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging lessons following existing lesson plans.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic needs.
- Communicate effectively with faculty and staff regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Must have at least a four year degree, preferably in education and in the area to be taught.
- Demonstrate a strong support for the stated learning philosophy of The Village School. Understanding of 21st century classroom practices and interdisciplinary connections is required.
- Spoken and written language skills must be strong and representative of an educated professional.
- Technology skills must be strong and representative of an educated professional. Technology skills are required to both teach students in the classroom, as well as to maintain records and communications.
- Teachers must be able to articulate their faith and support the school’s Christian environment.
- Physically, the position requires sitting, walking, and standing.
