PRN / As Needed / Temporary Coverage Position SummarySSKids Academy is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced PRN Teacher Assistant to provide classroom support on an as-needed basis within our private school.

This position will primarily provide temporary classroom coverage during an upcoming maternity leave, with the opportunity for additional assignments based on school staffing needs.

The ideal candidate will have a background in education, previous classroom experience, and a passion for working with children of varying abilities and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities Assist with daily classroom activities, instructional lessons, and student engagement.

Provide classroom support and coverage during staff absences, including maternity leave.

Support the implementation of lesson plans and established classroom routines.

Assist students with academic, social, behavioral, and developmental activities.

Maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.

Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and support staff to ensure continuity of instruction.

Assist with classroom preparation, organization, and instructional materials.

Follow school policies, safety procedures, and student confidentiality requirements.

Required:

Previous experience working in a classroom, school, or educational setting.

Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

Ability to work effectively with children with varying learning and developmental needs.

Flexibility and availability to provide coverage based on school needs.

Ability to successfully complete required background screening and school clearance requirements.

Preferred:

Associate's or bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.

Previous experience as a Teacher, Teacher Assistant, Paraprofessional, or Substitute Teacher.

Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder or other developmental disabilities.

Familiarity with individualized educational plans and classroom accommodations.

Initial assignment anticipated to provide coverage during a maternity leave.

Additional opportunities may be available based on staffing needs.

Hours and assignments will vary depending on school needs.

No guaranteed minimum number of hours.
