I and C Engineer – Intermediate (Data Centers)
Base pay range: $69,500.00/yr – $95,500.00/yr.
We at Jacobs are seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to help design and optimize control systems for state‑of‑the‑art industrial and commercial facilities. This role is based anywhere in the United States, but preferred if you are located near a Jacobs U.S. office.
You’ll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks, providing on‑site assistance during startup, and coordinating work activities with other staff and the discipline lead. As part of a collaborative multi‑disciplinary team, you’ll design and optimize control systems, develop P&IDs, size valves, specify instrumentation, and document design information, ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
Here’s what you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering
- At least 2 years of experience working with instrumentation and control systems
- Working knowledge of DDC, PLC, DCS, and other controls applications
- Experience working with data centers
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Displayed ability to learn quickly and drive broadening knowledge base
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Passion for buildings and construction
