Base Pay Range$/yr - $/yr
LocationOn‑site Baton Rouge, LA (open to candidates located anywhere in the United States; preferred proximity to a Jacobs U.S. office).
Responsibilities- Designing Wireless systems in iBwave and EDX
- Coordination with BIM designers to create drawing packages
- Coordination with AHJ’s, Radio System Owners, and the Carriers
- Creating or modifying DIV 27 specifications
- Conducting site visits and reviewing technical documents
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum 5 years’ experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems, including LMR 2‑way radio (outdoor LMR, Site Radio, RoIP), Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS, and other data center systems
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner or equivalent modeling programs
- Experience working with clients to identify wireless communications needs
- Experience troubleshooting wireless communication system issues from field teams
- Knowledge of Noise Floor, SNIR, Return Loss, and VSWR
- Experience optimizing networks during design and installation
- Thorough knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 1221, NFPA 1225, IFC section 510, Carrier KPIs, IBC, FCC Part 20, FCC Part 90, FCC OET Bulletin 65, and MOTOTRBO systems
- Knowledge of Motorola R56 installation standards and DMR Tier III
- Familiarity with Navisworks and responding to RFPs
- Project management skills: creating and maintaining budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation plans
- iBwave Level 2 Certification (required)
- Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems
- EDX or Motorola design certifications
- FCC GROL certification
- NICET Design Certification
- Multiple OEM product certifications
- Electrical Engineering or Communications Engineering degree
- EIT or PE certification
