Basic Summary
Randomly patrol community and respond to all calls for service to ensure the safety and security of residents, guests, and staff members.

Position Responsibilities
  • Random patrol of the community.
  • Respond to calls for service.
  • Monitor and report opened garage doors.
  • Monitor and report lighting deficiencies within the community.
  • Complete detailed reports of all activity during shift, including:
    • Respond to medical emergencies.
    • Provide accurate information for inquiries regarding direction, hours of operation, etc.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Safety.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of our industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the company.
  • Upon employment, all associates must fully comply with the company’s rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of facilities. Violations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with company standards is essential. Irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • Prior military and law enforcement experience a plus.
  • Degree in criminal justice a plus.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Class D license.
  • Maintain neat, clean, well‑groomed appearance (specific standards outlined in the employee handbook).
  • A proper uniform must be worn while on duty.
  • Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
  • Full‑time associates must schedule PTO during off‑season months.
  • Thorough knowledge of the property, facilities, and surrounding areas.
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external residents, guests, and staff, with high level of patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
  • Ability to listen, speak, read, and write in English clearly to ascertain and document important information.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to achieve positive guest relations and maximize guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to work without constant direct supervision.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or transport up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk frequently; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to perform duties while exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a rapid pace.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken word accurately, loudly, and quickly.
