Physical Therapist PRN Weekends – IRF
Physicians Regional Healthcare System
Job Summary: The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and administers therapeutic procedures in physical medicine and rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring physician. This role establishes individualized physical therapy goals, provides treatments, and regularly reassesses patient progress, documenting all findings accurately.

- Conduct thorough physical therapy evaluations to assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administer safe and effective therapy treatments, ensuring all interventions are appropriately documented.
- Reassess and adjust treatment plans within appropriate time frames to align with patient progress and changing needs.
- Provide clear, concise, and accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and billing information.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, therapeutic exercises, and post‑treatment care to support long‑term recovery.
- Operate therapy equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with referring physicians, peers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of patient care.
- Demonstrate population‑appropriate competencies for all relevant patient demographics, tailoring care to individual needs.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, including safety, infection control, and risk management procedures.
- Adapt to changes professionally and effectively, following the chain of command to address and resolve issues impacting patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) required.
- 0–2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting required.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, therapeutic techniques, and safety standards.
- Ability to perform comprehensive evaluations and develop effective treatment plans.
- Proficiency in using therapy equipment and technology for documentation and billing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills to prioritize tasks and maximize productivity.
- Commitment to professional development and adherence to ethical and legal standards.
- PT – Physical Therapist license in the state of employment required.
- BCLS – Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire required.
