High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate required with two to three years related experience.

Position Summary

Collier County Public Schools is seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Technician II to support the operation, maintenance, and enhancement of the Districts Building Automation Systems. This role requires advanced knowledge of Direct Digital Controls and hands-on expertise with hardware, software, and electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate, maintain, and install hardware/software for the Districts Building Automation System (BAS).
  • Service and install Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Safely work with low and high voltage systems, including up to 480V.
  • Diagnose and resolve communication issues at controllers, field servers, server racks, and fiber converters.
  • Provide remote technical support to Controls Technician I staff via phone or laptop.
  • Troubleshoot and repair analog heaters and related components.
  • Develop and implement control sequences in Tridium N4 (e.g., AHU startup, VFD startup, chiller staging, pump/valve operations).
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of district-provided tools, equipment, and vehicles, including daily safety checks.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience with Direct Digital Controls and Building Automation Systems.
  • Proficiency in Tridium N4 platform; ability to create and modify control sequences.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including high-voltage systems.
  • Ability to work independently and provide remote support.
  • Must obtain Tridium N4 Certification within six (6) months of hire.
