Key Responsibilities- Manage the full lifecycle of probate and trust administration cases from initial filing through final distribution, ensuring strict adherence to all deadlines and court rules.
- Draft a variety of legal documents, including petitions, accountings, inventories, notices, distribution agreements, and related correspondence.
- Assist in the preparation and review of estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax returns.
- Coordinate asset transfers, including the re‑titling of property and preparation of deeds and ancillary closing documents.
- Interface directly with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and court personnel with the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
- Organize and maintain accurate client files, ensuring compliance with firm standards and state regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience as a paralegal, with a primary focus on Estates & Trusts.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience in a specialized field of law.
- Strong, comprehensive knowledge of trust and estate law, probate administration processes, and court rules.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and relevant legal software (e.g., estate planning and probate management platforms).
