The Community Engagement Specialist plays a vital role on the NCH Philanthropy team, serving as a key connector between the organization and the community. The purpose of this position is to grow support of NCH’s community health initiatives on Marco Island. As a primary outreach representative of NCH on Marco Island, the Specialist will initiate, establish, maintain, and enhance relationships with other community partners in a collaborative effort to provide better quality of care to the community.
This position works closely with the Chief Impact Officer (CIO), Vice President Philanthropy, and other dedicated staff and volunteers to develop, coordinate, and execute impactful community engagement events. This role coordinates outreach activities including fundraising, communications, grant coordination and relationship development with donors and community partners to support key institutional priorities. Through these initiatives, the Specialist will raise awareness, generate support, and cultivate a strong network on Marco Island to advance NCH’s mission and transformational work.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Research, organize, and implement innovative community event opportunities designed to boost revenue and increase NCH’s visibility.
- Evaluate and implement best practices to enhance existing NCH community events for greater success and engagement.
- Partner with the Philanthropy Operations Manager to ensure accurate recording of event and tour participants, in‑kind donors, and proper acknowledgment and receipts are sent promptly.
- Proactively develop and manage a pipeline of potential community partners to expand NCH’s network and influence.
- Collaborate with the Vice President Philanthropy, Director of Campaigns and Stewardship, Administrative Director of Executive & Volunteer Initiatives, and Marco Advisory Board to identify, cultivate, and secure funding opportunities from community event beneficiaries.
- Create detailed task timelines and calendars for community presentations, tours, and events, ensuring all action items are completed on schedule.
- Coordinate and document meetings with community partners and volunteers, including scheduling, communicating details, and maintaining records in the organization’s CRM.
- Provide timely and personalized stewardship to NCH donors on Marco through in‑person meetings, thank‑you calls, emails, texts and videos to engage supporters effectively.
- Collaborate with the VP Philanthropy and Directors of Philanthropy to plan, manage, and execute impactful community engagement events that raise awareness, build relationships with community partners, and create a pipeline of prospective donors and volunteers.
- Recruit, orient, and lead volunteer engagement activities under the guidance of the Administrative Director of Executive & Volunteer Initiatives, fostering meaningful relationships that encourage volunteers to convert their time and talent into long‑term support.
