Job Description & How to Apply Below

Join the award-winning 19-bed Labor & Delivery unit at Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH) that welcomes over 3,500 babies each year. You’ll be on the frontline helping expectant moms bring new life into the world, providing meaningful, fast-paced and deeply rewarding work.

You’ll independently plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for mothers in their final stages of pregnancy and delivery. You’ll lead teaching, mentoring and participate in quality improvement initiatives. This role demands high clinical judgment, strong communication and teamwork.

Specifically, you will:

  • Perform comprehensive admission assessments and prioritize care plans.
  • Utilize fetal monitoring (including internal scalp electrodes, intrauterine pressure catheters) and interpret results.
  • Assist with cesarean and GYN cases — circulate, recover and support the surgical team.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, and identify teaching/learning needs for patients & families.
  • Document in the EMR, collaborate with physicians and the team, and notify the charge nurse appropriately.
  • Participate in process improvement, committees and unit-based initiatives.

In addition to excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills with patients, families and colleagues, we require:

  • Florida RN license (or APRN as applicable).
  • Competency in fetal monitoring (application, internal scalp electrode placement, IUPC).
  • The ability to handle tocolytics and assist in cesarean/GYN cases is also a requirement.
  • NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
  • STABLE certification within one year.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification within 6 months.
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course within six (6) months, updated every two (2) years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook; confident with EMR/chart audits.

A great place to live and work.

Beyond the hospital walls, Naples offers you and your family an unmatched quality of life: safe neighborhoods, excellent schools, year-round outdoor living and a community that embraces health and wellness. Pair that with no state income tax and the chance to live minutes from world-class beaches, and it’s clear NCH in Naples isn’t just a career move; it’s a lifestyle upgrade.

NCH does not exclude people or treat them differently because of race, color, national origin, age, disability, or sex.
