This opportunity is ideal for an experienced OR RN with at least one year of recent operating room experience who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced surgical environment. The position offers a full-time weekend day schedule consisting of three 12-hour shifts, competitive compensation, available call and shift differentials, and potential sign-on and relocation incentives. Nurses will also have opportunities to contribute to quality improvement initiatives, mentor team members, and support clinical excellence within Surgical Services.

  • Independently assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans based on patient conditions and surgical requirements.
  • Perform thorough preoperative nursing assessments, including obtaining relevant patient histories, identifying risk factors, and addressing patient-specific care needs.
  • Support operating room procedures by anticipating the needs of surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other surgical team members.
  • Coordinate patient care throughout the surgical process while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient operating room environment.
  • Apply critical thinking and clinical problem-solving skills to address changes in patient conditions and respond appropriately to clinical situations.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and significant others throughout the perioperative care process.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, anesthesia providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and treatment.
  • Identify and address patient safety concerns, clinical challenges, and workflow issues using established escalation and problem-solving procedures.
  • Participate in operating room on-call coverage as required by departmental scheduling.
  • Provide thorough handoff reports to incoming nursing staff to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Serve as a preceptor and mentor for newly hired nurses, coworkers, and students, supporting clinical development and competency validation.
  • Participate in departmental committees, nursing education, and quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education, departmental training, and required professional development activities.
