This is a part‑time position requiring 20–40 hours per week, including weekends, nights, and peak holiday periods.

About the Job

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in leading a customer‑focused, top‑line sales‑driven, profitable and productive store location. The Assistant Store Manager must also inspire and motivate others by exhibiting core value behaviors—including a customer‑focused selling culture—and ensuring the execution of the store's KPIs. Assistant Managers also hold store employees accountable for following all policies and procedures.

A Day in the Life:
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Displays a customer‑focused mindset at all times and ensures all team members deliver an engaging, positive and authentic customer experience.
  • Handles customer situations in compliance with policy and procedures, attempts to "solve for yes" and escalates issues as appropriate.
  • Maintains a clean and well‑organized store, promoting a safe working and shopping environment to maximize the customer experience.
  • Shares feedback from customers with the leadership team to improve the overall customer experience.
  • Performs as the floor supervisor role as needed to cover non‑peak periods (breaks, etc.).
  • Coaches and provides feedback on Sales Associate performance.
  • Supports associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
  • Provides direction to associates to ensure understanding of company directives and standards.
  • Prioritizes and delegates tasks to meet all operational needs.
  • Supports and executes visual directives and maintains visual standards set by the company.
  • Drives efficiency in all operational store processes.
  • Maintains merchandise flow, filling and presentation standards throughout the store and stockroom.
  • Ensures all store associates follow all policies, procedures and all Safety Program practices.
  • Reflects the Pac Sun brand by demonstrating passion and affinity for product, brands, fashion and trends.
  • Inspires and motivates others by consistently exhibiting core value behaviors.
  • Demonstrates willingness, aptitude, and initiative to learn what is unknown about product, brands, fashion and trends.
What It Takes to Join

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in math and possesses strong computer skills.

Physical Requirements
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those required by an associate to perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Must frequently sit or stand for long periods and climb ladders as needed.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear; sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, as well as reach, twist or squat.
  • Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stockroom, and office areas.
  • Requires close, distance, and depth vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work in an open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
  • Hotel, airplane, and car travel may be required for SM and above roles only.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a part‑time position. Ability to work 20–40 hours per week is required. As a national retailer, flexibility with work schedule (ability to work weekends, nights, peak holiday periods) is required.
