Residential Installation & Service Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for broadband installation and troubleshooting activities for voice, video and data services. Completes field assessments, meets/exceeds company standards/metrics and completes necessary certifications and education for current role and for consideration for advancement to the next level. Functions in an entry-level position with an increasing degree of proficiency and decreasing onsite supervision to complete installations and troubleshooting activities. Continued employment is contingent upon achieving required training, certifications and safety requirements.

Works on straightforward tasks using established procedures.

• Performs installations and changes of service while adhering to company procedures, safe work practices, National Electric Code (NEC) and National Electric Safety Code (NESC) requirements and local ordinances.
• Troubleshoots the drop from the tap to the customer's equipment and designs basic home networks using appropriate technology based on customer needs.
• Maintains accurate record‑keeping in a timely manner to ensure all work details are recorded in the customer's account.
• Determines acceptability of service by reviewing test results and adjusting or fixing service to provide the best possible customer experience.
• Provides advanced customer education on product placement, Wi‑Fi channel utilization, device options and channel lineup.
• Cleans, maintains and stocks vehicle and equipment, reports vehicle needs and reports accidents, losses, injuries or property damage to supervisor and customer when appropriate.
• Reconciles with warehouse regarding issued CPE (customer premise equipment).
• Operates and maintains installation tools, technology and equipment such as hand tools, light power tools, meters, ladders and aerial lifts.
• Demonstrates the ability to navigate digital tools including work order management and digital diagnostics.
• Obtains and maintains appropriate licensing and/or background checks as required by federal, state or municipality regulations.
• Uses sound judgment in decision‑making, problem‑solving, project management and accepts ownership of personal decisions and actions to perform installation and service of products.
• Performs work from high places, climbs poles with proper safety equipment, and lifts and carries loads of 70 lbs. or more in confined spaces.
• Operates company vehicle safely and maintains a valid driver’s license.
• Communicates effectively with customers and co‑workers, demonstrates excellent customer service and meets performance metrics.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, variable schedule and overtime.
• Proficiency with digital tools and customer‑facing technology.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
• Customer‑focused mindset, professional etiquette, adaptability, self‑motivation and resilience.

Base Pay: $18.20 per hour + quarterly bonuses and paid training. Comprehensive benefits package effective Day 1, including Health, Dental, Vision; highly discounted cable services; 21 paid days off + 8 company‑observed holidays and additional benefits. Eligible for Commission and Bonus plans for non‑sales positions. Full‑time, entry‑level role located in Naples, FL.
