Independent professional counseling work providing vocational rehabilitation services to eligible disabled individuals to attain employment; and providing technical assistance to vocational rehabilitation counselors.
Responsibilities- Provide professional vocational rehabilitation counseling to individuals with disabilities to help them achieve employment goals.
- Assess medical, psychological, and vocational information to determine service eligibility and develop individualized employment plans.
- Coordinate and negotiate services, conduct job placement activities, and build relationships with employers and community partners.
- Manage client information and case records, provide technical assistance to internal and external customers, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively, analyze data, and balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines, maintaining a goal‑directed approach.
- Attend in person as required.
- Work experience with individuals with disabilities in advocacy and/or employment‑related roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Business, Psychology, Education, Public Safety, or Criminology
* and* 2 years of professional experience, OR Master’s/Doctoral degree in relevant fields
* and* 1 year of professional experience.

- Knowledge: theories and practices in vocational rehabilitation guidance and counseling; interviewing techniques; medical and psychological aspects of disability groups; principles of effective communication; employment resources and vocational rehabilitation resources; methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Skills:
development and use of community resources and comparable benefits; administration of tests and analysis of results; career planning counseling; development of referral programs. - Abilities: compile, organize, and analyze medical, vocational, and psychological data; administer tests; counsel and guide career planning; establish and maintain working relationships; communicate effectively.
- Health insurance covered at 80% of the premium; $180/month for family and $50/month for individuals.
