Position Summary: The Psychology Teacher will deliver a high school-level psychology curriculum adapted to individual learning profiles. With small class sizes and a highly collaborative team of educators and specialists, the ideal candidate will embrace differentiated instruction, cultivate student engagement, and contribute meaningfully to the life of our community.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Teach psychology to high school students in classes of 6–10, emphasizing relevance, curiosity, and self-awareness
  • Design and adapt curriculum to support varied learning needs and styles
  • Partner closely with learning specialists and advisors to individualize instruction and assessment
  • Serve as a mentor to students within the school’s boarding community.
  • Attend all school meetings and in-services
  • Meet regularly with supervisor(s)
  • Assess students’ performance periodically throughout the semester
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field;
    Master’s degree and/or teaching certification preferred
  • Prior experience teaching adolescents, particularly students with learning differences, in an independent or special education setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in student-centered, inclusive instructional practices
  • Commitment to collaboration, innovation, and mission-driven education
  • Enthusiasm for working in a residential boarding school environment
