Position Summary: The Psychology Teacher will deliver a high school-level psychology curriculum adapted to individual learning profiles. With small class sizes and a highly collaborative team of educators and specialists, the ideal candidate will embrace differentiated instruction, cultivate student engagement, and contribute meaningfully to the life of our community.
ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities:
- Teach psychology to high school students in classes of 6–10, emphasizing relevance, curiosity, and self-awareness
- Design and adapt curriculum to support varied learning needs and styles
- Partner closely with learning specialists and advisors to individualize instruction and assessment
- Serve as a mentor to students within the school’s boarding community.
- Attend all school meetings and in-services
- Meet regularly with supervisor(s)
- Assess students’ performance periodically throughout the semester
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field;
Master’s degree and/or teaching certification preferred - Prior experience teaching adolescents, particularly students with learning differences, in an independent or special education setting
- Demonstrated expertise in student-centered, inclusive instructional practices
- Commitment to collaboration, innovation, and mission-driven education
- Enthusiasm for working in a residential boarding school environment
