Overview
Position: 21st Century Program Academic Enrichment Teacher
Location:
Birch Hill Elementary School
Work Year:
Part-time School Year
Salary Range: $35.00 per hour
Our program runs for 3 hours in the afternoon from Monday to Friday (roughly 2:30pm–5:30pm).
Qualifications- Teacher certification in Elementary Education is required.
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred.
- Other qualities: excellent verbal and written communication skills, use of technology, a growth mindset, proactive problem solving, teamwork, innovative thinking, creativity, patience, and flexibility.
The 21st Century Extended Day Program mission is to nurture intellectual curiosity and reinforce self-confidence in students through goal-oriented, project-based learning that builds practical skills and develops character. The Academic Enrichment Teacher:
- Develops and teaches classes with a strong academic component linked to school-day learning, using the Nashua School District Curriculum.
- Provides students with homework support to help meet grade-level expectations.
- Uses effective differentiation strategies and interacts positively and professionally with students and parents, showing respect.
- Encourages students to learn and aims for success, actively engaging them in planned lessons that align with grade-level expectations and enhance critical thinking skills.
